How the money moves

Once you’ve agreed the price, the creator asks for payment in the deal.

What does “held until approved” mean?

When a brand pays through Collab, the money doesn’t go straight to the creator. We hold it, through our payment processor Stripe, until the brand approves the delivered work, or until it’s approved automatically after 7 days with no answer. Then it’s paid out. If the collab is cancelled before the work is delivered, the brand gets the money back.

Can we pay each other directly instead?

Yes. Paying through Collab is optional. You can agree payment directly in the conversation and settle it however you both like, and then Collab takes no fee.

When do my founding months start?

The day payments through Collab open, for every founding creator at once, however early you joined, so nobody’s months run out before they can use them. If payments are already open when your page goes live, they start that day. They run for 12 months. Your number and badge stay for good.

Who pays the card fees?

The brand. The 3% card and processing fee is added to what the brand pays, so it never comes out of the creator’s side.

They may, as Collab grows. We’ll give notice first, and this page always shows the current rates. See the Terms.
